This time I read a book called Irma’s Sandwich Shop, written by Vic Moors and illustrated by Dominic Catalano. It is about a lady named Irma who makes the most amazing sandwiches in town. Here is my review! πŸ₯ͺ

The characters

  • Irma β€” She loves to make sandwiches… but she hates to eat them!
  • Val the Vulture β€” Loves Irma’s sandwich shop.
  • Reuben Cornwall β€” Loves the shop so much that he comes almost every day.
  • Little Joe Talltree β€” Comes every single day, and even takes one of Irma’s sandwiches to school.
  • Sammy Snake β€” Loves Irma’s sandwich shop.
  • Billy the Goat β€” Loves Irma’s sandwich shop.

The problem

One day, Irma’s shop becomes SO popular that even animals start showing up β€” that is how good her sandwiches are! But there is a catch: the animals all want very silly sandwiches, with the strangest ingredients. Now poor Irma has to figure out how to make every wild order.

How it ends

Irma faces dozens of challenges, but she overcomes every single one. She runs here, there and everywhere to find all the ingredients she needs, working really hard β€” and in the end she comes out victorious! πŸŽ‰

What I think ⭐

I think this book teaches you that with hard work, anything is possible. I liked how Irma never gave up, even when the orders got sillier and sillier. My favourite part is that even animals loved her shop β€” that is how you know the sandwiches were truly amazing! Two thumbs up from me. πŸ‘
